2018 April announcement

Hello, all JTC family,

This is a couple of announcements for April.

1.     Color belt Testing

This Friday (April.13) is the color belt testing day.   We have no regularly scheduled classes Friday and Saturday. Those of you who are testing, please be sure to arrive at your testing time 15 to 30 minutes early to stretch out and warm up. Return your testing form and coins before the testing day.   

2.     Assistant instructors Class

We will be having our monthly junior instructor class from 9:30am to 10am on Saturday (April.21).  The class is open to all senior brown belts and black belts and will focus on building strong leadership skills for use in the classroom and in the real world.  The class is just 30 minutes, but all students will be expected to stick around for the 10am to 10:45am class that immediately follows it. 

For the next two weeks  (April 03(tue) - 14(Sat), The Tuesday and Thursday 7:45 classes will be dedicated solely to Black Belt preparation. Students who normally come at that time should go to Monday & Wednesday 7:00 class instead. From past experiences, splitting a class with two different focuses has proved to be difficult and distracting. We want to give the Black belt candidates a class when they can completely focus on the necessary materials for their upcoming test.          

2018 March Announcements

All JTC family,

1.  This month’s Color belt testing is next week Mar.09.Friday. Any children eligible for testing will have their names listed at the entry door to the studio.  If you're unsure where to find you or your child's name, please come and see me.  All children must receive their 3 tapes (White belt 2 tapes) from an instructor before they are allowed to test, and please make sure the day after testing, Saturday is closed for instructor’s workday.

2.  This Friday, we will be opening the 4:00pm  class for all students who need more practice for Kicking.  To come and join this class you don't have to sign or contact me, just show up.

2018 February Announcement

Hello JTC Family,

This is an announcements for February:

1.    Testing for color belt scheduled on Feb.09.(Friday) Any children eligible for testing will have their manes listed at the entry door to the studio. If you’re unsure where to find your or your child’s name, please contact Mrs. Kim. All children must receive their 3 tapes from an instructor before they will be allowed to test, so please be sure you or your child gets their tape before the day of the test.   For those of you that are testing please be sure to study the questions in your manual appropriate for your age, and be sure to show up on time.

Please don’t forget when you return the testing application, fill out back of testing application and bring coins that you collected before testing day.

         Feb.09 (Fri) – Testing Day

         Feb.10 (Sat) – Instructor’s Work Day (Closed)

2.    We are going to be Closed on Feb. 19 (Mon) for President’s Day

2018 January Announcement

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday last week.

This is a reminder that there will be no regular classes on Friday (Jan.12) through Monday(Jan.15) for color belt testing and Martin Luther King Day.

Nov & Dec Announcements

Hello JTC Friends and Family,

For Nov & Dec we have a couple of announcements. 

1.    Color belt Testing  on Nov.10 (Friday)

Nov. 10 (Friday) – Testing day

Nov. 11 (Saturday) – Closed for Instructor’s workday

Please keep in mind that there will be no regular classes

 2.    Thanks Giving Day Nov.23 (Thur) – Nov.25 (Sun)

There will be no regular classes on Thursday, Nov 23 thru Saturday, Nov 25 to observe the Thanksgiving Holiday. Normal schedule will resume on Monday, Nov 27. Those students who typically attend Thursday and Friday classes can attend make-up classes on any open days.
 

3.    JTC X-Mas Party on Dec. 02 (Saturday)

This year we will have the JTC Annual Christmas party on Dec, 02 (Saturday) at 5 pm - 8 pm.  This could be the highlight of your Christmas season!

There will be food, fun games and  a mind-blowing demonstration by our black belts, and JTC's own demonstration team " JTC Tigerz! "  The tickets are limited, so whoever wants to join the party please, sign up and purchase for the tickets ($10 per person). Reserve yours RIGHT NOW by responding to this email or calling us as well.

 For the x-mas Demo : with sign up the Demo list you can be a demo practicing team.

4.    Color belt Testing on Dec. 08 (Friday)

Dec. 08 (Friday) – Testing day

Dec. 09 (Saturday) – Closed for Instructor’s workday

Please keep in mind that there will be no regular classes

5.    X-mas Holiday Closed on Dec.22(Fri) – Jan.01 (Mon)

JTC will be closed from December 23th until January 1st, for the holidays. 

We will return from break on the 2nd of January. 

October Announcement

1.     Closed for Columbus Day – Oct. 09, Monday

 2.     Color belt Testing – Oct. 13, Friday

We have no regular class Friday and Saturday. Children eligible for testing will have their names listed on the entry door to the studio. All children on the list must receive their 3 tapes from an instructor before they will be allowed to test and also get your testing application from Mrs.Kim.   Please, make sure that you wear regular uniform for testing.

3.     2017 2nd Black belt Testing - Oct.14, Saturday

I'd like to begin by congratulating all our candidates for all the hard work they've put in leading up to their test this Saturday.  It's been a long road coming but the big day is finally here.  The test itself will begin at 10:00am sharp.  If you're late, you fail, no exceptions.  Show up early (9:30am) to stretch and warm up on your own, the test is scheduled to run until 1:00pm.  Please make sure your family is here to lend you moral support and to be present when you receive your belt.
 

4.     Silicon Valley Open Tournament is on Oct. 21, Saturday           There will not be any regular classes on that day. We will also be closed because our Instructors will be busy cheering and coaching the students!

 5.     Halloween Party!!                                                                               2017 JTC Halloween party coming up October 27th (Friday), from 4pm to 6pm.  We plan to start the night off with some fun games, have a costume contest with prizes, serve food, and end the night by giving out a bunch of Toys and candy!   Space is limited (Only 70 tickets available), however, so we will be selling tickets to the party.  Tickets will be $10 per person.  Tickets do need to be purchased ahead of time (the deadline is October 20th) so please see Mrs. Kim to ensure you get yours today.   I've posted a signup list on the wall, so please leave your name on the list if you'd like to receive a ticket.

Summer break is behind us and school has started for just about everybody.  With the return to a normal schedule, our attendance has risen tremendously over the last weeks!  We are very happy to see everybody again and are excited to help you all achieve your martial arts goals!
 
Now that everybody’s more able to attend regularly, we’ve noticed that some of the classes are getting more crowded than others.  So we wanted to let you know what alternatives might be available in order to help ensure that you get the best possible learning experience.  For those who would like to try out a class which offers the same instruction for the same skill levels and age ranges but with fewer people can check out the following:
 
Mondays/Wednesdays @ 5:45pm students can find an alternative at 4:00pm
Tuesdays/Thursdays @5:00pm students can check out the 4:00pm class

Announcements for Aug

Here is an announcements for you all:

1.      This month’s color belt testing is Aug 11, 2017 (Fri), we have no regularly scheduled classes Friday and Saturday. Those who are testing, please be sure to arrive at your test 15 to 30 minutes early to stretch out and warm up. Please return your testing form and coins before the testing day. 

       2.       Junior Instructor Class is Aug. 19. 2017 (Sat) 9:30am.

Announcements for July

Hello all, here are some announcements for this month.
 

1. This Friday (July.14), we have our monthly color belt testing. I hope that your children are hard at work practicing and memorizing to do well for this month's test. The following day after, (July.15)Saturday, we do not have class because it is Instructor work day.

2. The tryouts for the upcoming tournament will be formally on the 21st of this month. Although the instructors have been saying it is the 20th, we have moved it to the day after for better timing. The tryouts will begin at 4pm and will approximately end at about 4:45 (depending on the amount of children). Those who do not make it to the tryouts are not put into the team. If there are conflicting events, please talk to Mrs. Kim.
 

A. The children will be showing the form that they will be doing for the tournament.

B. Parents are going to have to pay for the coach's fee on the day of the tryouts(7/21)

C. If your child/ren miss a practice without telling Mrs. Kim beforehand to the absense, they are kicked off the team. This is because we want to have your child/ren to work hard and also get as much advice from the instructors.

Schedule for June

1.     For June, Color belt testing is on Friday June. 09  we have no regular class on Friday nor Saturday.   Those who are testing, please be sure to arrive at your test 15 to 30 minutes early to stretch out and warm up. Please return your testing form and coins before the testing day. 

 2.   JTC Taekwondo will be closed for Independence Day week between July.03 (Mon) and July. 08(Sat). there will be no tuition-credit for that week, but students are welcome to take extra classes before or after the break to make up the time missed.

Schedule for May

1.  This month’s color belt testing is May 12, 2017 (Fri), we have no regularly scheduled classes Friday and Saturday. Those who are testing, please be sure to arrive at your test 15 to 30 minutes early to stretch out and warm up. Please return your testing form and coins before the testing day. 

2.   May 26(Fri) – May 29(Mon) we will be closed for Memorial Day.

Black Belt Testing

Hello Everyone!

I'd like to begin by congratulating all our candidates for all the hard work they've put in leading up to their test this Saturday (April.01).  It's been a long road coming but the big day is finally here.

The test itself will begin at 12:30pm sharp.  If you're late, you fail, no exceptions.  Show up early to stretch and warm up on your own because when the physical portion of the test begins we'll jumping right into it.  The test is scheduled to run until 4pm.  Please make sure your family is here to lend you moral support and to be present when you receive your belt.

Black belt certificates from the Spring 2016 Testing will be handed out at 4:10pm.  Make sure your parents are present so that you may present your certificate to them and read your letter of appreciation.  Please show up early.  If you are not in the studio by the time we begin the ceremony, you will not be able to receive your certificate until the next black belt testing.

                   01:00pm : Physical test starts

                   04:00pm -:Belt Ceremony & Certificate Ceremony

Black Belt Certification Ceremony

This is to inform all black belts who took their exam in the fall of 2016 (and who didn't get the certification yet) that the ceremony to receive their Kukkiwon certificates will be held this Saturday, April 1st at 4:00pm. Please show up in uniform with your parents to receive your certificate.
